Town of Pemberton Downtown Vitalization, Pemberton, BC (2008-2011)

MVH directed the Downtown Strategies Plan process in liaison with the Village of Pemberton and then followed up with the detailed design of Frontier Street. The Village of Pemberton built the proposed Community Barn with the help of the Wood Guild of America, local wood suppliers, and over 100 volunteers. The main funding came from the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation. In 2015, the Community Barn was voted as one of the top communities gathering places in Canada by the Canadian Institute of Planners. In 2018, the Village of Pemberton received $5.3 million from the Federal Gas Tax Fund to support further Downtown Revitalization and construction based on MVH’s plans for the village centre.
